Black History Month Project Computer Research

During the month of February, my 7th grade scholars had the tremendously rewarding and difficult task of completing a "Historical Black Figure" individual project. The expectations for each student's project was set very high, and working with the students on effectively collecting data using technology was a truly special task. Many of my students were not aware on how to efficiently and safely search for information related to their project topic. My class attended a field trip to the downtown Milwaukee Library to use the computers and watch videos that were of importance to their research. During this visit, I was able to teach my students how to use "colligate resources" on the computer in order to successfully find and use the information found for their project.

Below are pictures of my students final project. I helped one student create a slideshow of pictures for Maya Angelou and she displayed it on an iPad using the Slideshow Builder App! :) Talk about integrating technology!
